With recent economic times many Western New Yorkers are finding themselves without work, and while six months off may feel like a vacation, it is not the most flattering period of time on someone’s resume. Have you considered spending this time off refining your skills or learning new ones?
In the past the word “internship” has been associated with the final semester during someone’s college course work. Now, however things have turned around. You too, can be an intern; you do not have to have a college or university affiliation to be considered for an internship.
This is a win, win situation; while the economy is down in the dumps and jobs are few and far between for skilled workers, non profit agencies like AIDS Community Services of Western New York (ACS) are looking for skilled individuals just like you! While interning at ACS you will be learning new skills, gaining valuable work experience that will later help you land that amazing job when the economy finally does turn around. While all of our internships are unpaid, the unique experience you will gain by being a part of the team at ACS will greatly enhance your resume.
We currently are looking for interns in the following fields/positions,
Human Resources Assistant, Medical Filing Assistant, IT Assistant, and a Graphic Designer.
If you or anyone you know are interested in these internship positions please contact Eugene via e-mail at acsvolunteer@yahoo.com or give him a call at 716.332.2286 ext. 335.
